Incan’s newly introduced Hammer Pro40 LMM 3D printer is designed for mass manufacturing, and its technical specifications as well as pricing have been revealed.

Incus GmbH, an Austrian engineering firm and OEM, has just unveiled its latest innovation in 3D printing technology – the Hammer Pro40. This new Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing (LMM) 3D printer is specifically designed to meet the demands of mass manufacturing and can be seamlessly integrated onto the factory floor. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the Hammer Lab35, the Hammer Pro40 offers upgraded production capabilities, a substantial build volume, and excellent resolution.

The Hammer Pro40 has been engineered to manufacture intricate and specialty parts in large batches for a variety of industries, including dental, medical, automotive, micro robotics, and jewelry. With a build volume that is six times larger than the Lab35, measuring 2x 200 x 76.8 x 150 mm, the Hammer Pro40 can fabricate complex geometries with a high-quality surface finish. This is made possible by the utilization of two moving projectors, rather than the singular stationary projector typically found in LMM systems.

One of the standout features of the Hammer Pro40 is its impressive speed and cost-effectiveness. With a 3D print speed of up to 240 layers per hour and up to 700 cm3 per hour, the Hammer Pro40 is seven times faster than the Lab35. Additionally, the cost per cm3 is four times lower than its predecessor, making it an attractive choice for manufacturers looking to optimize both speed and cost efficiency.

Furthermore, the Hammer Pro40 offers exceptional precision and surface quality. It boasts a pixel pitch of 40µm in X/Y, enabling the production of high-quality end-use parts. The surface roughness after sintering, known as Ra, measures at 2µm, eliminating the need for additional surface treatments such as polishing or sandblasting. This not only saves time and resources but also ensures a streamlined production process.

Automation is another key aspect of the Hammer Pro40. The 3D printer can operate multiple prints without human intervention, including a feedstock supply that can last up to three days. Job preparation, setup, and material changeover are streamlined and take less than five minutes. The green parts produced by the Hammer Pro40 exhibit high strength, allowing for easy automation of their handling.

While Incus has not yet released pricing or purchase information for the Hammer Pro40, more details will be available during the Formnext 2023 exhibition in Frankfurt. Interested individuals can visit the Hammer Pro40 at hall 11.1, booth D42 during the event.

Overall, the Hammer Pro40 represents a significant advancement in 3D printing technology, catering to the growing demand for mass manufacturing while delivering exceptional speed, precision, and cost-effectiveness. Its versatility enables the creation of a wide range of products, from medical devices to automotive components, all with quantities ranging from single prototypes to mass production. With its powerful capabilities and state-of-the-art features, the Hammer Pro40 is set to revolutionize the additive manufacturing industry.
