**Nexa3D Partners with Headmade Materials to Revolutionize Metal 3D Printing**
In an exciting announcement, Nexa3D, a leader in ultrafast polymer 3D printing technology, has revealed its entry into the sintering-based metal additive manufacturing space with ColdMetalFusion. This move allows Nexa3D customers to overcome productivity barriers in metal part production by integrating Headmade Materials’ unique feedstock technology into its fast-cycle QLS lineup of SLS 3D printers.
By signing a partnership agreement with Headmade Materials, Nexa3D is expanding its SLS capabilities in the metal additive field. ColdMetalFusion, a sinter-based 3D printing process that combines the advantages of polymer laser sintering with powder metallurgy processes, enables Nexa3D customers to efficiently produce metal components using the QLS 230, QLS 236, and QLS 820 high-throughput SLS printers.
Nexa3D is renowned for its pioneering work in high-speed polymer 3D printing, consistently pushing the boundaries of additive production. Through its collaboration with Headmade Materials, Nexa3D brings its expertise and experience in ultrafast serial production to the ColdMetalFusion ecosystem, which focuses on performance, repeatability, and precision.
Christian Fischer, Co-CEO of Headmade Materials, expressed his admiration for Nexa3D’s technology and excitement about partnering with them. Headmade Materials, with its decades of experience in sintering and traditional industrial manufacturing, will work alongside Nexa3D to offer services, equipment, materials, software, and know-how to customers in the metal manufacturing industry.
As Nexa3D joins the metal manufacturing industry, it brings its commitment to sustainable digitization of supply chains to the metals space. The QLS series printers from Nexa3D provide a flexible industrial SLS platform for producing both polymer and metal parts. The QLS 230, for example, is capable of a 24-hour cycle speed using a single 30-Watt CO2 laser, allowing the production of metal parts with reliable metal injection molding-like properties.
MIMplus Technologies, GmbH has already experienced the benefits of using the QLS 230 in combination with ColdMetalFusion technology, achieving significant production savings in the printing of industrial cutting tools compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
John Calhoun, Head of SLS Business Development at Nexa3D, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Headmade Materials, highlighting the exceptional production economics it provides for manufacturing metal components.
